Sun’s out! Paris was gorgeous last weekend- actually a little too hot for me at 77°F despite being a Californian. If you’re looking for the perfect summer date spot, check out Bois de Boulogne, the second largest Parisian park near the 16th arrondissement. There were tons of sun-bathers and adorable dogs (one of which rode in his family’s canoe). We even bumped into my co-worker at the dock.
We rented a canoe and Tyler got a good workout rowing the loop around the lake. It was very romantic with lots of swans, a waterfall, and beautiful scenery. I spotted a photographer on a hill overlooking the lake and waved to her. She smiled back and actually found us later to send us photos she captured of us. Isn’t that sweet? Here’s one of the pictures she took (merci Caroline!):
This was probably the nicest day we’ve had in Paris so far. We’re big fans of transition seasons (autumn, spring) and it’s a joy to experience them for the first time in France.
The start of good weather also means picnics along the Seine. If you’re out walking on a nice afternoon, you’ll see tons of Parisians sitting along the water with their wine and baguettes. We stopped by our neighborhood market, Maubert Mutualite, for fresh produce and salmon to make one of our favorite meals.
Cheers to enjoying the beautiful weather!
